Wechselpraeposition - Changing prepositions, or "the swingers"

9 Prepositions can be accusative or dative. If you are placing something or laying something on / in / next to etc., then the sentence will require a preposition with ACCUSATIVE.

If you describe the position of something - on the table, under the chair etc, then you will need a preposition with DATIVE.

Ueber -over
Auf - on (horizontal)
In - in
Vor - in front of
Hinter - behind
Zwischen - between
An - on something (vertical)
Neben - next to
Unter - under

Verbs that use accusative: MOVEMENT / PLACEMENT
legen - to lay something or self down (flat things- paper, glasses, ruler, notebook)
stellen - to place (vertically - bottle, lamp, glass)

"Der" goes to "den", the rest stay the same! A rule for the accusative.
Ich lege den Bleistift auf den Tisch.
Ich stelle meine Flasche unter den Tisch.

liegen - lie (stationary position) - horizontal-
stehen - stand (stationary position) - vertical-

Der / Das goes to Dem......Die goes to Der....Die Plural goes to Den + n on the end of the word.

Das Papier liegt zwischen dem Schueler und der Lehrerin.
Die Flasche steht an der Wand.
Der Lehrer steht vor der Tuer.
